RMU hosted the final 7s tournament of the season on a blustery morning at Joe Walton Stadium. The team was excited to play in front of a home crowd for the last matches of the season. While the girls were hoping to play in the championship, they dropped their first match against eventual champion Gannon
The women traveled to a rainy night match at Duvall Stadium on Fairmont State University Campus. The conditions and travel made for an up hill battle for the ladies all night, but became the first team to defeat #1 ranked Fairmont State. The matches were incredibly physical led by hard-hitting Corenne Burrowes. Match #1: RMU
Clarion forfeited match due to low numbers. Match was cancelled, and RMU automatically received 15 points in the standings.
Opening weekend was an exciting way to start the season with three close matches against Gannon. Both teams had mostly rookies playing their first matches ever, but you would never know considering how well each team played.
